Jeanette Shihadeh, or the artist known as "Netsy" began making art as a child while growing up in the Northern suburbs of Philadelphia, Pa.
As an adult she enrolled in Penn State University's night school while working a fulltime job to prepare herself to transfer fulltime to the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Here she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Drawing, and a certificate in Art Therapy in 1992. After graduating from art school Netsy immersed herself in Non-profit work for nearly a decade. This work led her to move to St. Petersburg, Florida in 1998. Here she created portraits, banners, leaflets and graphics, as well as volunteering time to media work, fundraising and events. Today Netsy continues to reside in St. Petersburg, Florida. She currently works as a Visual Coordinator at HSN, never forgetting her passion for creating and making art.
